ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN AND BUILD
875 N. MICHIGAN AVENUE SUITE 3100 CHICAGO IL 60611 P 312.337.9879
The historic, Tudoresque mansion, built for the president of U.S. Steel in the late 1800’s, was converted to a conference center for an international business management consulting firm. As the firm’s booming growth needed, coupled with the commitment to optimize the investment in their property, a 76,00-sf office building was designed in the 1980’s to provide contemporary workspace for the associates and their state-of-the-art technical support functions.
Respectfully adjacent to the mansion, preserving the primary focal point of Rock Ledge, the office wing is a utilitarian, but expressionistic interpretation of the scale, patterns and materials of the mansion suitable for the 21st century.
